Courtenay is a city on the east coast of Vancouver Island, in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

Courtenay is just 4km (2.5mi) west of the town ofComox, 7km (4.3mi) northeast of the village ofCumberland, 5km (3.1mi) northwest of the unincorporated settlement ofRoyston, and 108km (67mi) northwest ofNanaimo. The city, along with Nanaimo andVictoria, is home toThe Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary's), aPrimary Reserveinfantry regiment of theCanadian Forces.
